How does ReWare do it?

  1. We buy high quality, used smartphones including Apple and Samsung smartphones from international markets in full working condition.
  2. ReWare then does quality assurance checks and refurbishes those smartphones, as required.
  3. We sell those refurbished smartphones to customers in the South African market, in good condition with brand new ReWare accessories (USB Cable and Plug) at affordable prices.

What does ReWare CPO (certified pre-owned) smartphone mean? It is a smartphones that is pre-owned, however before it gets resold to a new customer the following happens:

  1. certified through an 11 category inspection & over 40 tests run
  2. quality check
  3. repaired if need be (this includes battery replacement if battery health is an issue)
  4. cleaned and sanitised
  5. resold with a 1 year warranty

In some but not all instances you may experience one or more of the following with ReWare’s CPOs (this is normal)

  1. In certain iPhones the camera shutter sound cannot be muted. As you know our devices are imported from all parts of the world, one of those countries includes Japan where it is illegal to have mute functionality on the camera shutter sound.
  2. In certain Samsung devices there is a welcome screen from international operators including but not exclusively, Verizon,
  3. In certain Samsung devices there may be embedded apps that cannot be removed, we are working hard on this one.

Do ReWare certified pre-owned smartphones come with SIM cards?

No. We provide certified pre-owned devices at great prices, with a 1 year warranty. You will need to source a SIM card from your network provider of choice.

What accessories come with the smartphones?

We provide new ReWare USB charger and charging cable with all certified  pre-owned devices.

Buying Online

How do I buy something from ReWare?

  1. Find the items you wish to buy

Use search box located on the top righ corner of your screen. You will also click on the link Phones to browse lists and more detailed product-specific searches in the top and left navigation bar. When you find an item that interests you, click the title or name of the item to see its details, including colour availability.

  1. Add to cart

Found the products you want to buy? Choose an avilable colour option and Click on Add to cart. Your shopping cart contains all the products that you have selected to buy. Once you’ve added an item to your Shopping Cart, keep searching until your cart contains all of the items you want to order.

You can access the contents of your Shopping Cart at any time by clicking the Cart icon on the top of your screen

  1. Check out
  • To enter checkout, click on the ‘proceed to checkout’ button.
  • You will be required to complete your billing, and shipping details. Please note that a tick box will appear that allows you to ship to a different address than your billing address
  • Click on the login/signup link or alternatively check out as a guest
  • Your order list will appear.
  • Select your payment method and click on the continue button on the bottom right
  • Click on ‘proceed’ if you are ready to complete the payment process
  • A complete order summary will now display with all the details of your order. Please ensure that all information, including your delivery details are correct.

What are my payment options?

Payment can be made via:

  1. Payfast: Credit and Debit Cards via Payfast. Cards accepted are Mastercard and Visa. Payfast also offers access to Mobicred.
  2. Mobicred: Online credit facility that allows you to pay in monthly instalments. If you have any questions about Mobicred you can visit: https://www.payfast.co.za/mobicred/

Internet Transfers: Please ONLY use your order number as reference (for example 1234567). If you bank with Investec, deposits made before 12 noon should be processed on the same day, alternatively the following day. Transfers made from any other bank will (in most cases) reflect the following day, but can take up to 48 hours.

When will my credit card be charged?

DELIVERY

How much will i be charged for delivery

Delivery is provided free of charge on all ReWare CPO purchases.

How long does delivery usually take?

Most deliveries happen within 2-3 working days  after payment has been received and confirmed in ReWare’s bank or Payfast account

I am not in South Africa, how can my device be delivered?

ReWare currently does not offer international shipping for all products.

 

SETUP

How do I set up a ReWare device?

  1. Charge your new ReWare Certified pre-owned smartphone
  2. Customers can select any network provider for their ReWare device
  3. Once sim card is inserted Power ON by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake Button for a few seconds. Then follow the onscreen instructions to set up your smartphone.
  4. Read and follow instructions on the insert leaflets included in the ReWare box. For the Samsung S4 it is important to read the APN settings insert leaflet

WARRANTY

Where can I find more details on the warranty?

How do I go about booking my device in for an in-warranty repair if I purchased online?

This process only applies to device purchased on www.reware.co.za

  1. Download the in-warranty repair document and complete
  2. Submit the completed document and the original proof of payment to warranty@reware.co.za
  3. A member of the customer care team will be intouch via email confirm receipt and will provide next steps.

 How do I go about booking my device in for out-of-warranty repair if I purchased online?

This process only applies to device purchased on www.reware.co.za

  1. Download the out-of-warranty repair document and complete
  2. Submit the completed document and the original proof of payment to warranty@reware.co.za
  3. A member of the customer care team will be intouch via email confirm receipt and will provide you with a quote including courier costs.
  4. The quote is only valid for 7 days.
  5. On acceptance of the quote, an invoice will be issued and deposit payment will be required.
  6. Once proof of payment has been received courier collection will be arranged
  7. Once repair is completed, notification will be sent and final payment will be due.
  8. Repaired device will be dispatched by courier once final proof of payment is received and reflected in bank account.

PHYSICAL AND LIQUID DAMAGE

What is physical damage? Physical damage includes, but is not limited to the following:

  1. Damage that is apparent to something that can be seen and/or felt.
  2. A cracked screen. This may be due, but is not limited to, the device being dropped or exposed to severe impact and force.
  3. A device completely shattered into pieces.
  4. A device slightly warped or bent in half but still functional, this may be due to severe impact on the device i.e being dropped from heights.
  5. Excessive scratching or chipping of painted or polished surfaces
  6. Alterations of original look to device.

More detail on liquid damage

  1. Liquid damaged device/s shall mean products, which are found to have any form of corrosion, which may have been caused by liquid making contact with the board of the product/device.
  2. A device is declared as liquid damaged when traces of liquid residue or corrosion have been found on the board or on the device itself.
  3. A device may function for a couple of months after the liquid damage is caused, due to corrosion setting in over time, depending on the damage. The liquid seen can be minimal but the damages occur within the layered board or under a component of the device. The symptoms of the damage can also change as the liquid spreads through the board.

What causes liquid damage? Liquid damage can be caused by:

  1. Actual water (dropping in water, holding the device against damp hair or skin),
  2. condensation,
  3. hand cream,
  4. perfume,
  5. excessive temperature changes,
  6. steam (kitchen, bathroom),
  7. perspiration (after exercise, warm day),
  8. mist cooling systems at restaurants,
